Carlo Usai – Restauro metalli antichi
Carlo Usai, got a degree at the Istituto Centrale del Restauro in Rome in 1980, has been working with his team of restorers in Italy and abroad for more than twenty years. Their sphere of activity is only concentrated on monuments or objects belonging to the public patrimony that are of particular historic and artistic interest. Their way of working is based on specific conservative criteria: marble and bronze sculptures are treated so as not to cancel the natural superficial patinas. Thus, they use mechanical and chemical methods, always the same ones, that have a slow but very efficient action, wether on a small archeolo gical or onmonumental works of art. They write restoration and conservation projects, estimates and scientific inquires driven to the correct execution of the various phases of restoration.
