United Kingdom Institute for Conservation
UKIC is the representative body for professional conservators and restorers in private and institutional practice in the UK. It started as a regional group of the International Institute for Conservation in 1958 and became autonomous in 1979. UKIC members are conservators, restorers and conservation scientists working in disciplines including applied art, archaeology, archives,botany, industrial archaeology, paintings, paper, sculpture and zoology. They also include many who have a professional, business or personal interest in conservation.
