The International Journal of Heritage Studies (IJHS) is the academic, refereed journal for scholars and practitioners involved with the heritage. It includes five major sectors:
The collecting of artefacts often within museums or galleries, from those of archeologists and scientists to those of artists and designers. The preservation, conservation and restoration of buildings, ancient monuments and built environments, usually in situ. The protection of area of landscape, including coasts and towns for aesthetic and recreational purposes. The protection and display of nature, species of fauna and flora, habitats and geological fetures in situ, in museums and in zoological and botanical gardens. The protection and encouragement of traditional cultural features, including religious and ethnic practices, languages, music, diet and ways of life.
